Microsoft 365 for Business Overview
What Is Microsoft 365?
Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) is a cloud-based subscription service that provides professional email, the full Microsoft Office suite, cloud storage, and collaboration tools. It is designed for businesses of all sizes and integrates seamlessly with your custom domain.
Key Features
Professional Email with Outlook
Microsoft 365 gives each user a professional email address at your domain (e.g., you@yourdomain.com) powered by Exchange Online. You get a 50 GB mailbox, advanced spam and malware filtering, shared calendars, and the familiar Outlook interface across desktop, web, and mobile.
Office Desktop Applications
Subscribers receive the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Access (PC only). These apps install on up to five devices per user and stay automatically updated.
OneDrive Cloud Storage
Each user receives 1 TB or more of cloud storage through OneDrive for Business. Files sync across devices and can be shared securely with colleagues or external collaborators.
Microsoft Teams
Teams provides chat, video conferencing, file sharing, and app integrations in a single hub. It supports meetings with up to 300 participants, screen sharing, recording, and breakout rooms.
Security and Compliance
Microsoft 365 includes data loss prevention (DLP), message encryption, multi-factor authentication, and mobile device management. Higher-tier plans add advanced threat protection and compliance tools.

DNS Records Required
Microsoft 365 requires several DNS records for email, autodiscover, and security:
- MX record — Routes email to Exchange Online.
- Autodiscover CNAME — Enables automatic Outlook configuration.
- SPF TXT record — Prevents email spoofing.
- DKIM CNAME records — Adds email authentication.
- DMARC TXT record — Specifies handling of unauthenticated email.
Exact values are provided in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center during setup. If your domain is registered with 10Corp, you can add these records from the DNS management panel.
