Using Two-Factor Backup Codes

Overview
If you are unable to access your account using your two-factor authentication device, don’t panic! You can log in using the backup codes that were generated when you set up two-step verification. This guide explains how to use those codes.
How to Log In with a Backup Code
- Visit the 10Corp website and click Login in the upper right.
- Enter your username and password. You will be prompted to enter a security code.
- Enter one of your backup codes in the Security Code field and click Login.
The code will only be valid once, so if you need another backup code in the future, you will need to use the next one in your list.
What If I’ve Used All My Backup Codes?
If you have used all of your backup codes, you can generate a new set:
- Log in to your 10Corp account (using your authenticator app or any remaining backup code).
- Navigate to Settings > Security > Two-Step Verification.
- Click Show Backup Code to generate a new set of codes.
- Save the new codes securely and discard the old list.
Note: Generating new codes will automatically invalidate all previously generated codes.
What If I Cannot Access My Account at All?
If you have lost access to both your authenticator device and your backup codes:
- Try using a backup text message if you previously configured one.
- Contact 10Corp support for assistance with account recovery. You may be required to verify your identity before access is restored.
Best Practices
- Always generate backup codes when setting up two-step verification.
- Store codes securely — print them and keep them in a safe place, or save them in a password manager.
- Regenerate codes periodically and whenever you suspect they may have been compromised.
- Never share your backup codes with anyone.
