Transferring Account Ownership

Overview

There may be situations where you need to transfer ownership of your 10Corp account to another person or organization — for example, when selling a business, changing administrative roles, or consolidating accounts. This guide explains the process and requirements for transferring account ownership.

Before You Begin

Before initiating an ownership transfer, make sure:

  • The new owner has a 10Corp account. If they do not have one, they should create an account first.
  • You have access to the email address associated with both accounts.
  • All outstanding invoices are paid and there are no billing disputes on the account.
  • You understand that the transfer is permanent and includes all services, domains, and settings associated with the account.

How to Transfer Account Ownership

  1. Log in to your 10Corp account as the current account owner.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account Management (or Account Ownership).
  3. Click Transfer Ownership.
  4. Enter the email address or username of the new owner.
  5. Review the list of services, domains, and assets that will be transferred.
  6. Confirm the transfer by entering your account password and completing any 2FA verification.
  7. The new owner will receive an email notification asking them to accept the transfer.
  8. Once accepted, ownership is transferred and the previous owner’s access level is reduced to the role assigned by the new owner (or removed entirely).

What Gets Transferred

  • All domains and their configurations
  • Hosting accounts and associated data
  • Email services
  • SSL certificates
  • Billing history and future billing responsibility
  • Sub accounts and team members

What Does NOT Get Transferred

  • The previous owner’s login credentials (the new owner uses their own)
  • Payment method details (the new owner must add their own payment method)

Important Notes

  • Account transfers may take up to 48 hours to fully process.
  • The new owner must accept the transfer within 7 days, or the request will expire.
  • For domain-specific transfers (without full account transfer), see your domain management settings.
