Setting Up Hosting for an Existing Domain

Last Updated: March 2026 2 min read

Overview

When you purchase a hosting package, it needs to be set up before it can be used. The process is quick and straightforward — you simply need to associate your domain with your hosting account. Here’s what you need to do.

How to Set Up Web Hosting

  1. Log into your hosting account — Sign in to your 10Corp account dashboard.

  2. Navigate to your products — Click on My Products or Hosting in the navigation menu.

  3. Initiate hosting setup — Under your hosting plan, click the Setup Now button. If you do not see this option, your hosting plan may already be set up.

  4. Choose your domain — In the domain selection area, use the drop-down menu to select the domain you want to associate with your hosting.

  5. Confirm the setup — Click Setup Hosting Now to finalize the configuration.

Note: If you want to set up a domain that is not currently in your account, look for an option like “Use a domain not in your account” where you can manually enter the domain name (without the “www” prefix).

After Setup

Once your hosting is set up, it typically takes about 15 minutes for everything to be provisioned. After that, you will be able to:

  • Access your control panel (cPanel) — Log in to manage your hosting files, databases, and email accounts.
  • Upload your website files — Use the File Manager in cPanel or connect via FTP.
  • Create email accounts — Set up professional email addresses using your domain.
  • Install applications — Use one-click installers like Softaculous to install WordPress, Joomla, and other CMS platforms.

Pointing Your Domain to Hosting

If your domain is registered elsewhere, you will need to update your domain’s DNS settings to point to your hosting server. You can do this by:

  • Updating nameservers at your domain registrar to the nameservers provided by 10Corp
  • Creating an A record that points to your hosting server’s IP address

For detailed instructions, see our article on Pointing a Domain to Hosting.

Troubleshooting

  • “Setup Now” button is missing — Your hosting may already be configured. Check your cPanel access.
  • Domain not appearing in the list — Ensure the domain is active and properly registered in your account.
  • Cannot access cPanel after setup — Wait 15 minutes for provisioning to complete, then try again.
