How to Transfer a Domain Away from 10Corp

If you need to move your domain to another registrar, 10Corp makes the process simple. Here is what you need to do to initiate an outgoing transfer.

Prerequisites

Before starting an outgoing transfer, verify the following:

  • The domain has been registered or transferred to 10Corp for at least 60 days.
  • The domain is not expired or in a redemption/pending-delete status.
  • There are no active disputes on the domain.

Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Unlock Your Domain

  1. Log in to your 10Corp account.
  2. Go to Domains → My Domains and select the domain.
  3. Locate the Domain Lock setting and toggle it to Unlocked.

Step 2: Disable WHOIS Privacy

If WHOIS privacy protection is enabled, temporarily disable it so the receiving registrar can verify the registrant contact information.

Step 3: Obtain Your Authorization Code

  1. In the domain management panel, look for Authorization Code or EPP Code.
  2. Click to request the code. It will be sent to the email address listed as the registrant contact.
  3. Copy the code — you will need it at the new registrar.

Step 4: Start the Transfer at Your New Registrar

Go to your new registrar’s website and follow their incoming transfer process. You will need to provide the domain name and the authorization code obtained from 10Corp.

Step 5: Approve the Transfer

You may receive an email asking you to confirm the outgoing transfer. Approve the transfer promptly to avoid delays.

Transfer Timeline

Outgoing transfers typically complete within five to seven days. 10Corp does not charge a fee for outgoing transfers, though the receiving registrar may charge a transfer fee that usually includes a one-year registration renewal.

Important Considerations

  • Back up your DNS records before transferring, especially if you use 10Corp’s nameservers. Your DNS configuration may not carry over automatically.
  • Email services tied to 10Corp may be affected. Plan for any necessary email migrations.
  • Once the transfer completes, manage your domain through the new registrar’s control panel.

If the transfer encounters issues, contact 10Corp support for assistance.
