Reporting Domain Abuse
What Is Domain Abuse?
Domain abuse refers to the misuse of a domain name for illegal, harmful, or deceptive purposes. Common forms of domain abuse include:
- Phishing — Fraudulent websites designed to steal personal information such as login credentials or financial data.
- Malware distribution — Domains used to host or distribute malicious software.
- Spam — Sending unsolicited bulk emails using a domain.
- Botnets and command-and-control servers — Domains used to control networks of compromised computers.
- Fraud and scams — Websites that deceive users for financial gain.
- Child exploitation material — Any content involving the exploitation of minors.
How to Report Domain Abuse
If you encounter a domain involved in abusive activity, you can report it to 10Corp through the following channels:
Submit an Abuse Report
Contact the 10Corp abuse team by email or through the abuse reporting form on our website. When submitting a report, include as much detail as possible:
- The domain name in question.
- A description of the abusive activity.
- URLs or screenshots showing the abuse.
- Any relevant headers (for spam-related complaints).
- Your contact information for follow-up.
Report to ICANN
For domains registered through ICANN-accredited registrars, you can also file a complaint directly with ICANN at icann.org/compliance.
Report to Law Enforcement
If the abuse involves criminal activity (such as fraud, identity theft, or child exploitation), report it to the appropriate law enforcement agency in your jurisdiction.
What Happens After You Report?
Once 10Corp receives an abuse report, our team investigates the claim. Depending on the findings, actions may include:
- Contacting the domain registrant to request corrective action.
- Suspending the domain or associated hosting services.
- Forwarding evidence to law enforcement.
- Cooperating with relevant authorities as required by law.
Response times vary depending on the severity of the abuse. Critical threats such as phishing and malware are prioritized.
