Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan

Last Updated: 2025-01-01 2 min read

As your needs change, you may want to move to a higher or lower-tier plan for hosting, email, or other services. 10Corp allows you to upgrade or downgrade most plans directly from your account dashboard.

How to Upgrade Your Plan

  1. Log in at https://my.10corp.com/.
  2. Navigate to My Products and locate the service you want to upgrade.
  3. Click Manage or the settings icon.
  4. Select Upgrade Plan or Change Plan.
  5. Choose the new plan from the available options.
  6. Review the pricing summary — the prorated amount for the current billing period will be displayed.
  7. Confirm and complete the payment.

What Happens When You Upgrade

  • Immediate activation: Your new plan resources (storage, bandwidth, features) are available right away.
  • Prorated billing: You are charged only the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remainder of your billing cycle. Your next renewal will reflect the full price of the new plan.
  • No downtime: Upgrades are typically seamless with no service interruption.

How to Downgrade Your Plan

  1. Follow the same steps above but select Downgrade Plan or choose a lower-tier option.
  2. Review any limitations of the new plan — for example, reduced storage, fewer email accounts, or removed features.
  3. Confirm the downgrade.

What Happens When You Downgrade

  • Effective at next renewal: In most cases, your downgrade takes effect at the beginning of your next billing cycle. You retain your current plan’s resources until then.
  • Data considerations: If your current usage exceeds the limits of the lower plan (e.g., disk space or number of sites), you may need to reduce your usage before the downgrade can be processed.
  • No partial refund for the current term: The downgraded pricing applies from the next renewal forward.

Things to Consider

  • Review plan features carefully before making a change. Ensure the new plan meets your requirements for storage, bandwidth, email accounts, and any other features you rely on.
  • Backup your data before downgrading, especially if you are near the resource limits of the lower plan.
  • SSL and add-ons tied to your plan may be affected by a downgrade. Verify whether your add-on services are compatible with the new plan.
  • Contact support if the self-service option is not available for your product, or if you need help evaluating which plan is right for you.

Prorated Billing Example

If you are on a $10/month plan and upgrade to a $20/month plan halfway through the billing cycle, you will be charged approximately $5 (the difference for the remaining 15 days). Your next full renewal will be at $20/month.
