Managing Auto-Renewal Settings

Last Updated: 2025-01-01 2 min read

Auto-renewal ensures your domains, hosting plans, and other services remain active by automatically processing payment before they expire. Managing these settings correctly helps you avoid unintended lapses or unexpected charges.

How Auto-Renewal Works

When auto-renewal is enabled for a product, 10Corp will attempt to charge the payment method on file a set number of days before the expiration date. If the payment succeeds, the service is renewed for another term. If it fails, you will receive email notifications prompting you to update your payment information.

Enabling or Disabling Auto-Renewal

  1. Log in at https://my.10corp.com/.
  2. Navigate to My Products or the specific product management area (e.g., Domains, Hosting).
  3. Locate the product you want to manage.
  4. Toggle the Auto-Renewal switch on or off.
  5. Confirm your choice when prompted.

Important: Disabling auto-renewal does not cancel or refund the current term. Your service will remain active until its expiration date.

Auto-Renewal Timing

  • Domains — Renewal is typically attempted 10–15 days before the expiration date. This buffer helps ensure the domain does not enter a redemption period if the payment fails.
  • Hosting & Other Services — Renewal is usually attempted 3–7 days before expiration.

Exact timing may vary by product type. Check your product details for the specific renewal date.

What Happens If Auto-Renewal Fails

  1. First attempt fails — You receive an email notification asking you to update your payment method.
  2. Retry attempts — The system will retry the charge one or more times over the following days.
  3. Service expiration — If all attempts fail and no manual payment is made, the service will expire on its expiration date.

For domains, an expired domain may enter a grace period and then a redemption period, each with additional fees to recover the domain.

Best Practices

  • Keep your default payment method current to prevent failed renewals.
  • Review your auto-renewal settings periodically, especially before budgeting cycles.
  • Enable email notifications so you are alerted about upcoming renewals and failed payments.
  • If you no longer need a service, disable auto-renewal well in advance to avoid being charged.

Managing your auto-renewal preferences proactively is the simplest way to maintain control over your services and billing.
